Thomas Merton, the great Roman Catholic writer, spent his entire religious career, from his acceptance into the Cistercian Order in December of 1941 until his tragic death in Thailand at the age of 53 in December of 1968, as a monk at the Our Lady of Gethsemani Abbey near Bardstown, Kentucky. If for Merton’s legions of admirers, the Gethsemani Abbey is “Mecca,” then the independent Catholic university, Bellarmine, some 40 miles to the north in Louisville is “Medina.” In 1967, Merton bequeathed his voluminous papers to Bellarmine, which had been founded by the local diocese as Bellarmine College in 1950. Since his death it has become the home of the Thomas Merton Center at Bellarmine University and the headquarters of the International Thomas Merton Society. There are a number of other Thomas Merton Centers,…

A Tale of Two Hoaxes
According to the Chinese lunar calendar, we are now in the Year of the Pig. However, this is surely the Decade and most probably the Century of Bullshit. As such, there are a huge number of hoaxes out there, too many to count. However, some of them, a select few, for whatever reasons, receive far more attention than the rest. A recent hoax, perpetrated (or attempted, rather) by one Jussie Smollett really seems to have hit the sweet spot. Jussie Smollett, who is actually biracial (and thus, a particularly good stand-in for Trump’s predecessor in the White House) was initially portrayed as the innocent victim of racist Trump supporting thugs. However, soon there was narrative breakdown. Since the story broke some weeks ago, readers of…
FULL ARTICLEThe Ghost of John Morton
(This blog post is a draft of the opening chapter of a book that I am writing about the alleged New Year’s 2015 mass sexual assaults in Germany and the entire “Muslim Rape Epidemic” hoax narrative that this is part of. JR) The Ghost of John Morton “If the subject is seen to live frugally, tell him because he is clearly a money saver of great ability, he can afford to give generously to the King. If, however, the subject lives a life of great extravagance, tell him he,too, can afford to give largely, the proof of his opulence being evident in his expenditure.” John Morton, Lord Chancellor of England, 1487-1500 Though John Morton’s original formulation refers specifically to taxation,…
FULL ARTICLEZionism Contradicts Judaism
New York historian, journalist, and lecturer, Alfred M. Lilienthal, was the leading 20th century American Jewish spokesman against the Zionist project of creating a Jewish state in Palestine. His views gained a wide audience in the United States when his essay, “Israel’s Flag Is Not My Flag,” was published in the September 1949 Reader’s Digest. The following is an excerpt from that article, which was written in the form of a letter to his mother: The plain fact is that we Jews are not a race and we should not let the Zionists persuade us that we are. Proof to the contrary lies in Palestine, plain for all to see. You had my letter, Mother, from my Army furlough there. I was…
FULL ARTICLEDemographics on the Ground
I live in the 10th Congressional District of Virginia, in the southwestern corner of Fairfax County, which on its eastern side is just across the river from Washington, DC. The Republican, Frank Wolf, was my Congressman when we moved here in 1983, up until his retirement in 2014. After 1982, Wolf won re-election by large margins every two years. His former aide, Barbara Comstock, a “moderate” Republican, succeeded him and won re-election in 2016, although, uncharacteristically, the Democrat, Hillary Clinton, won the presidential vote in the district by 10 percentage points. Noting the changing demographics of her district, Comstock had been one of the never-Trumpers in the GOP, and it had probably saved her in 2016, but the handwriting was on…
FULL ARTICLEBefuddled Juror in Thomas Merton Book Verdict
Befuddled Juror in Thomas Merton Book Verdict My copy of the quarterly Merton Seasonal, published jointly by the International Thomas Merton Society and the Thomas Merton Center of Bellarmine University, has arrived, and I see that they have finally stopped ignoring The Martyrdom of Thomas Merton: An Investigation, written by Hugh Turley and yours truly and published in March of 2018. The Winter 2018 edition upon the 50th anniversary of Merton’s untimely and mysterious death in Thailand on December 10, 1968, is on the general theme of Merton’s demise. On the cover is a photograph of Merton’s grave marker at his home Gethsemani Abbey near Bardstown, Kentucky. The modest black and white magazine, 43 pages in length, contains six articles and two…
FULL ARTICLEDaniel Best: Trump’s Vince Foster?
Hey, Donald, do you see anything fishy here? Snopes.com, of all people, has a good summary of the basic known facts in this very recent high-level suspicious death case: On 1 November 2018, the Trump administration’s senior adviser on drug pricing reform, Daniel Best, was found “unresponsive” near the garage door exit of a Washington, D.C., apartment building. He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. A statement released the same day by Health and Human Services Secretary (HHS) Alex Azar mourned Best as a “friend and colleague” but addressed neither the circumstances nor the cause of his death. No other details were released to the public. Two weeks later, on 15 November, the office of Washington, D.C.’s chief medical examiner announced that…
FULL ARTICLEHillbilly Agent?
The first time I ever heard of the new young author, J.D. Vance, I was listening to National Public Radio (NPR) sometime during the 2016 presidential campaign, and he was the subject of an interview. The NPR interviewer seemed to love the guy and his message. The subject at hand was his newly published book at the time, Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis. To say that the book has received a great deal of media attention and that it has been wildly popular is almost an understatement. As of this writing it has received 11,692 customer reviews on Amazon, with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. It has also received generally favorable…
FULL ARTICLEScarce News on Admiral Stearney’s Death
If you are a regular reader of The Jerusalem Post you would have learned on December 1 that the top officer for all U.S. Navy operations in the Middle East, Vice Admiral Scott Stearney, had been found dead in his home in Bahrain. The Reuters wire story that The Jerusalem Post was simply passing on was an official statement from U.S. Chief of Naval Operations, John Richardson. The statement gave no cause of death or any other information except to assure us that foul play was not suspected. If you get your news from The Washington Post, on the other hand, you wouldn’t even know that much, right up to the time that I am penning this report. Try searching “Scott Stearney Washington Post” and…
FULL ARTICLEYou’re worshiping the wrong Jew!
Last year, in my presence, the great Vietnamese-American writer Linh Dinh made a funny quip about the Communists oppressing Christians. He characterized it thusly: You’re worshipping the wrong Jew! For Linh, replacing Christianity with communism amounted to replacing one Jew (Jesus) with another (Marx). I didn’t really think this was something so serious, but meant more whimsically. That was how I perceived it at the time, but since then, I actually started to muse over whether maybe there is some weird facet of the goyische psychology that makes them want to worship some Jew or another. (Could that be?) Over the last few months, Ron Unz, the publisher of the eponymous Unz Review wrote a series of articles that broke various taboos. He started with the Kennedy…
FULL ARTICLERevusky’s Laws of Debate
The goal of the following “laws” is basically to disarm the trolls that pervade public discussion. They are largely based on my own personal experience in online “debates” over the last few years, in which I have observed just how defenseless good-faithed participants are against the same repeated trolling tactics. Some of these already appeared in essays I have written. I anticipate that this list will expand over time. Anybody who starts with this vacuous nonsense about “conspiracy theories” and/or calls you a “conspiracy theorist” has thereby conceded the debate.1 If, in a debate, someone is upholding some narrative, and it becomes evident that their only “proof” of the story amounts to simply repeating the story, then that person has…
FULL ARTICLEKevin Barrett interviews Jon Revusky: The “Muslim Rape Epidemic” and the Post-Truth World
Again, a rather intense, sometimes caustic conversation with the great Kevin Barrett. Enjoy. A few days afterwards, Kevin told me that he had lost a few (he didn’t say how many) subscribers over this show. I took that as a sign that we were doing something right! I mean, if you never offend anybody, then… Kevin was pretty sanguine about it too, figured that if people didn’t like what we were saying, then that’s their problem. In the private email, Kevin referred to certain people as “racist idiots”, and I don’t really disagree particularly. However, I do not completely agree, because my sense is that this is not really the core issue at hand. After all, what is “racism” finally?…
FULL ARTICLEWho is Donald Trump?
(Editorial Note: This piece originally appeared on Dave Martin’s site in May 2017 but has lost none of its timeliness since then.) Now that our newly elected president has quickly and unceremoniously dropped all pretense of being opposed to the neocon-neoliberal American Empire agenda, one has to wonder why the mainstream media, led by The Washington Post and The New York Times, seem to feel the need to keep pounding away at him so viciously. His cabinet, with its Wall Street and Goldman Sachs connections, looks just like what we would have gotten had Hillary Clinton been elected, and so does his foreign policy. His United Nations ambassador, former Marco Rubio supporter and Republican pro-Israel establishment darling, Nikki Haley, has probably been…
FULL ARTICLEDeep Politics 101: Infiltration, the Testimony of Darthard Perry
(I’m featuring this piece again because I realized that the Darthard Perry video was memory holed from Youtube and I now have embedded the video on HeresyTube.) I came across this video on YouTube some months ago and it made an impression on me. It is from a program that was aired in 1980, on a Black Television network in the U.S. It is an interview with one Darthard Perry, who was a paid F.B.I. infiltrator in various Black organizations in the 1970’s. Mr. Perry describes how he was recruited and provides detailed inside information into the way this sort of infiltration works. He even answers various other questions to which one might wish to know the answer, such as:…

FULL ARTICLEWhat We Know about Thomas Merton’s Death
Paper by David Martin and Hugh Turley presented to Thomas Merton Symposium, Pontifical Antheneum, Rome, Italy, June 13, 2018 The state of knowledge of Thomas Merton’s death can best be described as highly unsatisfactory. Michael Mott’s 1984 authorized biography, The Seven Mountains of Thomas Merton, has been taken as the last word on the subject. Everyone who has written about Merton’s death since then—and there are many—has apparently accepted his explanation of how Merton was electrocuted by a defective fan, departing from his description on occasion only with their own embellishments, based solely upon imagination rather than new research. This is unfortunate, because Mott leaves a lot of loose ends. First, he quotes directly from the just-then-revealed conclusion of the Thai police report, a document that only a…
FULL ARTICLEI Love My Own People, But I love the Truth More. The White Nationalist Backlash Against Islam is a Sucker’s Game.
(Editorial Note: This piece by Michael Hoffman originally appeared on his site in 2006 but is still timely, as the constant defamation campaign against Islam continues unabated.) I am getting “backlash” mail from “White Nationalists” in the US and Europe who have bought into the racist neo-con propaganda about Islam. The non-reproducing (i.e. self-exterminating) whites of Europe and America live for luxury and have either been neutral toward the Israeli holocaust in Palestine or have supported the Judaic dictatorship not only in Palestine but in Europe, Britain and America. They have impotently acquiesced with hardly a peep of protest to the jailing in Austria and Germany of revisionist scientist Germar Rudolf, historian David Irving and writer Ernst Zündel. Can one…
FULL ARTICLE“Performance Artists” versus The First Amendment
(Editorial Note: Readers are invited to weigh in on the 64,000 dollar question: Is Alex Jones some sort of shill?) Inflammatory radio host Alex Jones is besieged with lawsuits brought by Sandy Hook parents who claim to be “defamed” by the content of his broadcasts. America’s loudest rant monger appears to be fulfilling a central role in a broader play that could seriously undermine the First Amendment. Most recently Jones, who maintain via his counsel that the Newtown massacre itself was genuine, has agreed to defray the plaintiffs’ court costs for bringing suit in Texas should the judge find it frivolous. Concurrently media platforms including YouTube, Facebook and Spotify are now censoring “Infowars” for purported “hateful” content. Jones’ ex-wife and conflict-of-interest show…
FULL ARTICLEThe Undead Amy Biehl
(Editorial Note: This is an intriguing piece by Alison Maynard that originally appeared on her blog in January 2016. It dovetails with my own recent investigation into the 9/11 Flight attendant Betty Ong. Of course, the overarching issue is the extent of fakery in news events and the way these sorts of synthetic events and narratives form the basis of our (mis)understanding of the world.) Over 22 years ago, the world was rocked by the violent murder of American voting rights activist and Fulbright scholar Amy Biehl in South Africa. She was a blond, blue-eyed Stanford graduate aged 26 when she was pulled from her car in Guguletu Township outside Cape Town on August 25, 1993. While a mob of 300 black students shouted,…
